Schedule a Patient appointment from the Encounter

Schedule a Patient at the end of the Exam (Provider Workflow)

At the end of the patient appointment, you can schedule the patient for a follow-up visit with the steps below:

In the SIGN-OFF stage of the One Stage Encounter, there is a Close button in the top Right-hand corner with a drop down option. In that drop down menu, there is an option to make the appointment Ready for Checkout:

Make the appointment ready for check out and then click athenOne in the top left-hand corner. It will navigate you back to the home screen. From that Home screen, find your appointment and highlight it so that it shows the door.

The door will navigate you to the Check-Out stage of the appointment. In the Check-Out stage under Scheduling, you will see the “Calendar”.

Click the Calendar under appointments and you will navigate to the scheduling screen.

Use the menus at the top of the page to specify a time of day, appointment type, department, and provider. Green Slots represent open slots to schedule. Brown Slots show booked slots and or Today’s date.

Select the day of the week you are scheduling for. The schedule will show all of the available slots in green where appointments can be scheduled.

Select an available slot and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Verify that your Appointment Type is correct and then click the Schedule Appointment option at the bottom left corner.

If you would like to schedule recurring appointments, please reference the following:

           1.    Recurrence type — Select Daily, Weekly, or Monthly to schedule similar appointments on a recurring basis. Additional fields appear. Indicate the frequency for the appointment using the options provided.

           2.    Recurrence end date — Indicate the end date for the recurring appointments.

           3.    Create individual appointments — Select this option to create individual, unrelated appointments (like any other appointment in athenaNet) based on the recurrence schedule you specified.

Once you have completed your selections of the recurring appointment you will click Schedule Appointments at the bottom. A list of those appointments will then populate for you. If the patient is in office, you can print them.
