                                                                                   Safety Plan

This article shows how to document a "Safety Plan" patient visit in athenaNet. There are steps for both the provider and staff to complete. Depending on your role, please reference the stop to complete this type of patient visit. A document is attached at the bottom to reference this workflow. If there are any training questions related to the workflow guide, please create a Zoho Ticket, and select "Training Needed".

When a patient requires a Safety Plan, use a Patient Case to document the occurrence, as well as a note using the “.SafetyPlan” text macro. These Safety Plan Patient Cases will be visible in the Visits and Search tabs of the chart.

Provider Steps:

1.    From within the patient chart, select Create Patient Case from the menu in the top right-hand corner.

2.    Fill in the Patient Case as follows:

a.    Source/Recipient = Patient or Patient Portal

b.    Leave the “Type” field BLANK.

c.    Provider = provider for the visit

d.    Subject (this displays in the patient chart) = Safety Plan

e.    Alarm Days = no alarm

f.     Set “DATAENTY Completed” and save.

g. View Actions and CLOSE the patient case and or send to the patient portal.

Fill out the text macro Safety Plan in the case description section of the patient case.

Once the patient case is closed, it can be found in the Chart under the Visits Tab for reference.
