PROVIDER SUPERVISION
Overview: How to setup provider supervision |
Audience: Front Office Support |
Review: Providers are required to meet for supervision at least once a month. To document supervision, the practice assistant will create a supervision appointment on the supervisor’s schedule. This appointment will be checked in by front office and checked out requiring “No Charge Entry.”
PRELIMINARY:
· Who is the supervising provider?
· What dates are supervision?
· What time is supervision?
· How long is the supervision appointment?
** If the supervising provider is in another department, please
ensure to coordinate scheduling with that practice assistant **
Scheduling
a Supervision Appointment:
1.
From AthenaOne homepage search
for the supervisor’s patient account using “SUPER” as the last name and “MD”
for prescribers or “LCPC” for therapy as the account first name.
2. To the far left select “Schedule”
3. Schedule the appointment as the workflow calls for.
a. Selecting the supervisor as the Provider.
b. Selecting “Supervising Meeting” as the appointment type.
4. LAST STEP: Once the supervision appointment has been booked, freeze the provider schedule who is joining supervision. They will be frozen at the same time and date as the supervision appointment with the reason as “Provider Supervision.” Please refer to the “Provider Schedule Freeze” job aid for further instructions on how to freeze a provider’s schedule.
