No Show-Late Cancels Workflow | Provider
Check-in
Workflow
Check in the no show appointment in Athena and change the Appt Type dropdown to No
Show/Late Cancel (Note: This step will be done by the practice assistant unless
after hours for New and Est patient visits).
The duration on the schedule should reflect the
originally scheduled appointment.
Exam
Workflow
Start
the exam and document the reason for visit as No Show/Late Cancel:
Enter a note regarding the patient's no show/late cancel with the text macro ".noshow" in the assessment and plan:
Mark the no show code in billing tab using the code corresponding to
the billing decision
--To waive the no show/late cancel fee use:
MISCNOCG – No Show/Late Cancel No Charge
--Use DX code Z049
The
practice assistant will check out and enter charges as usual.
*Please
note: there
are no changes to the current cancellation process for patients who cancel with
appropriate notice.
