APPOINTMENT WAIT LIST
Overview: Adding a patient to the waitlist with and without an existing appointment |
Audience: Front Office Support and providers |
Review: Appointment wait list is meant to be worked, it does NOT alert when there is an appointment on the waitlist that can fill an appointment slot. Please access the waitlist daily to see if anyone can fill the open appointments on the schedule. Please review and clear out the appointment wait list regularly.
How to access the waitlist in AthenaOne:
1. From the Athena task bar Select “Calendar” > Select “Appointment wait list”.
2. Ensure the appropriate department is listed then select “Search” – all appointments on the wait list should appear.
To add a patient to the wait list without an existing appointment (meaning a new appointment will be generated upon scheduling):
1.
Go into the patient Quickview > Select
“Scheduling” > Select “Add to Appointment Waitlist.”
2. Select the filters according to the patients’ needs.
3. Select “Save.”
To add a patient to the wait list with an existing appointment attached (meaning an existing appointment will be rescheduled upon finalization):
1. Go into the patient Quickview > Select “Scheduling” > Select “Add to Appointment Waitlist.”
2. Select the filters according to the patients’ needs.
3. Select the appropriate existing appointment under “Currently Scheduled Appointment.”
How to schedule from the wait list:
1. Open wait list and select “Search”.
2. Locate the patient from the waitlist and select “find appointment.”
3. Schedule the appointment appropriately.
